FINANCIAL INCLUSION INDICATORS - Q4 2025

The financial inclusion indicators for Q4 2025, available here, render a detailed analysis of access to financial services in Mozambique, covering geographic, demographic, and usage dimensions, with a breakdown by gender and area of residence (urban and rural).

The report also presents data on the distribution of financial service access points across the country’s 154 districts.

During the reporting period the total number of access points increased by 6.8%, driven primarily by a 7.5% rise in the number of mobile money agents, 4.7% in banking agents, and 10.2% in microcredit operators. However, the number of POS terminals declined slightly by 1.7%.

Regarding the use of financial services, the number of mobile money accounts increased by 6.0% to 25.4 million, while the volume of deposits per 1,000 adults rose by 1.3 percentage points to 40.1 million meticais.
