e-GDDS

What is the e-GDDS?

The Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS) is a standard for disseminating economic and financial statistics laid down by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which Mozambique is a part of.

The information that Mozambique reports to the IMF is under the responsibility of the Banco de Moçambique (BM), the National Statistics Bureau (INE) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), and includes indicators on the financial sector, external sector, real sector, fiscal sector and sociodemographic data.

This initiative sets out to boost the development of statistics, strengthen transparency and timeliness, and improve access to statistics by creating a National Summary Data Page (NSDP).

Mozambique took up the e-GDDS standard officially on July 30, 2019. Please refer to the IMF website for further information on the e-GDDS.
