Description
In light of the Organic Law and the central bank's powers, the Banco de Moçambique collects, compiles and discloses the following statistics: monetary and financial, foreign exchange, external sectors, national payment system, central balance sheet database, securities and financial inclusion.
These statistics are used for research, forecasts and to support the steering of monetary policy.
Law No. 7/96 that establishes the National Statistics System (SEN) sets the Banco de Moçambique as one of the institutions that comprise this system, for the central bank produces official statistics in the country.
The statistics published by the Banco de Moçambique follow a schedule for dissemination and reviews.
