BANCO DE MOÇAMBIQUE HOSTS LECTURE ON MONETARY POLICY AND PRESENTS ECONOMIC OUTLOOK AND INFLATION FORECASTS REPORT AT UCM IN TETE

On April 1st, the Banco de Moçambique hosted a lecture on monetary policy and presented the Economic Outlook and Inflation Forecasts Report (CEPI) to the academic community of the Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM) in Tete. The event was held as part of the celebrations marking the Bank’s 50th anniversary and 45 years of the Metical.

During the opening session, Pinho Ribeiro, Director of the Communications Office, underscored the importance of the CEPI report and monetary policy. Carlos Baptista, Director of the Economic Research Department, presented the rationale behind the Monetary Policy Committee’s decisions, based on the analysis of the economic environment, inflation projections, and associated risks.
